Ainsley Celebrates Second Birthday
04/25/08 19:05

Our niece Ainsley turned two years old last week. She had an Elmo party with cake, friends, family, kites, games, and a pinata. It's an amazing thing to watch her grow into such an adorable little girl! Click here for more pictures.

Baby Jackson's Belly Laugh
04/25/08 19:05
Our little nephew, Jackson, Joey & Nicole's son, is only four months old and is already truly enjoying life. While playing with him recently, Joey was able to make Jackson laugh out loud unlike any other baby his age. They actually got a pretty good video of it that you can watch on their blog here. You'll have to scroll down about half way on the page to find the video. Enjoy!
Half Marathon
04/25/08 19:04

After months of training, Jess and I ran the Big D Half Marathon. It was my first, so my initial goal was to simply finish without dying. By race day, however, we had set the goal of running the 13.1 miles in less than two hours. By God's grace and Jess' encouragement, we kept an 8:54 minute pace and completed the run in one hour and 56 minutes. Jess' twin sister, Nicole also ran the half despite having given birth just a few months prior.

Coach of the Year
04/10/08 08:36

That's right--Jess was voted this season's Basketball Coach of the Year in her district. It was quite an honor and extremely appropriate, for she took a group of rookies and molded them into a team that earned much respect in the state tournment as they nearly knocked off the state champs. Considering that she won't lose any seniors this year, Jess is bound to return for the 08-09 season as the Coach of the Year, with, perhaps, the Team of the Year.
Earliest Christian Art Exhibition
04/10/08 08:35

At the end of our Spring Break, Jess and I took a day to tour an exhibition at the Kimball Art Museum displaying the earliest Christian art. From carvings on tombs and coin engravings to ivory figurines and a gem-encrusted gold cross, the range of art included treasures dating as far back as the second century. It was amazing to see which stories seemed most important throughout history as stories such as Jonah, Lazarus, and Noah were most frequently featured.
Mexican Pastor to Move to Lewisville
04/10/08 08:33

I had the opportunity to hang-out with Rodolfo (Fito) this past weekend. Willie and I served and lived with him and his church for a semester years ago in Mexico. He is now praying about moving with his family to Lewisville, Texas in order to pastor a new Hispanic church. What a blessing it was to get to catch up with Fito and laugh and pray and encourage one another as it seems that God has called the "Three Amigos" (Willie--"Dusty Bottoms," Fito--"Lucky Day," and me "Ned Nederlander") to all serve as Church Planters.
