Coffee House
01/25/09 15:13
In October 2007, the
Lord allowed Jess and I to plant a new church here in
Fort Worth. This church, Body Life, has become a
beautiful community of believers who simply live the
Christian life together. It's been an incredible
blessing to me and Jess.
Soon after we started the church, we recognized that we would not be able to meet in a house forever, because the church was constantly growing. We talked about where the Father might lead us next, and we talked about how we didn't want to lose the intimacy and unity that our living room atmosphere gave us. I thought about different venues that would give us more room without sacrificing the blessings of a house setting, and I told Jess about a year ago that it would be great if we could one day have a coffee shop to meet in.
Well, this past Fall, though we weren't even looking for a coffee shop, God provided our church with a coffee house to rent. It's owned by a Christian man, it's close to our church's neighborhood, and it's a place that will allow us the ability to double in size while also giving us a presence in the community that will open up doors for meeting needs, building relationships, and witnessing.
We began meeting in our new coffee shop the first Sunday in January and now use it every week, throughout the week, for worship, Life Groups, fellowships, and even my office. It is such a blessing and such an answer to prayer. I'll try to post some more pictures that actually have the church in them later, but for now, here's a couple of quick shots of the coffee house.

New Pictures/Blogs for a New Year

Since I didn't have the chance to do them justice
with an appropriate blog, I will simply trust in the
adage, "A picture is worth a thousand words," and
refer you to our new picture albums so that you
may have a glimpse of our Christmas celebrations
with my family in Florida and Jess' family in
Lewisville, as well as a quick look at our New
Year's ski trip to Santa Fe, New Mexico.
After you check out these pictures, be ready for some rapid updates. Just a teaser for the next three blogs: coffee shop, testimonies, published.
