"1 Person praying for 1 unreached people group for 1 year. That's the StageOne Initiative."
So goes the vision of a new ministry effort of which my friend, James Tealy, is a part. His e-mail this past week informed me all about their push to challenge all Believers to "adopt" a people group from somewhere around the world that has little or no access to the Gospel. Their position, and I agree, is that prayer is powerful. I've seen the Lord answer praying Saints in regards to the salvation of those who have yet to hear. I saw it with the Amarakaeri, and I know that several Followers were lifting up that nation years before I arrived.
Check out the StageOne website and, if you share this passion, sign-up for the name and info of an unreached group for whom you can begin praying.

Married to a Science Teacher
03/17/07 14:24
I've got to say, it's
an adventure being married to a science teacher.
Everyday, as Jess gets her lesson plans ready, I get
to learn all the things I've forgotten since high
school. I learn about DNA and Japanese Crabs with
17-foot-long legs. We do science experiments at the
house--like making volcanoes and dying
carnations--and I think I've gone to Wal-Mart to buy
buckets of worms at least three times this year.
Well, a few days ago, Jessica's planning for an upcoming field trip took us to the Fort Worth Zoo. It's huge, boasting elephants, giraffes, zebras, snakes, sharks, kangaroos, and much more. My favorite animals were the lions, white tiger, and the monkey's. I could watch those monkey's all day long. They're hilarious.

My First Race
03/10/07 22:04
For awhile now, Jess
and I have been trying to get involved in running and
biking so that we can eventually compete in some
triathlon's and duathlon's. Well, I ran my first race
this morning. It was a 5k run (3.1 miles) for a
private Christian school in the area. One of our
friends from the seminary works there and told me
about it. Since Jess had to be at the church, I ran
alone. It was a good course, but somewhat difficult,
as it boasted some muddy trails and several uphill
patches. With Switchfoot blasting my ear drums, I
pressed on and finished in 27 minutes flat. I guess
that means I averaged a little less than 9 minutes a
mile--I'll take it. I actually ended up finishing 4th
in my age group (20-29). All-in-all, it was a great
experience for my first run. Plus, I got a free
T-Shirt out of it.
2-2
03/04/07 22:48
On the first play of
the game last Thrusday night, Jessica stole the ball
and went down and hit a 3 pointer. Great start! From
there, our 6'6'' friend and teammate, Robert, knocked
down about four 3's and put up 38 points to lead us
to our second victory of our intramural basketball
season over at the Seminary. Back at 500 now, we're
tied for 4th in this 8-team league. This week, we've
got the late game at 9 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully we
can take hold of a winning record.
